In life’s journey, many of us grapple with the question: “Am I responsible for my success?” While it’s essential to trust in God’s plan, we must also recognize that He has granted us free will and the ability to make choices that shape our destiny. God opens doors of opportunity, but we must walk through them and take action.
Understanding Free Will in God’s Plan
God has given us the gift of free will, allowing us to make decisions that influence our lives. Deuteronomy 30:19 says,
“I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life so that you and your children may live.“
This verse emphasizes that while God provides the options, the choice is ultimately ours.

“Faith by itself if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.”

“A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest—and poverty will come on you like a thief and scarcity like an armed man.”

The servants who actively invested their master’s money were rewarded, while the ones who did nothing faced the consequences. Success often requires discipline and perseverance. 2 Timothy 1:7 says,
“For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power, love and self-control.”
Embracing self-control empowers us to make choices that align with our goals and God’s life purpose.

While we take responsibility for our actions, seeking God’s guidance in our decisions is crucial. Proverbs 3:5-6 advises,
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.“
We can find the right direction by aligning our plans with His will.
